Although loreal does own the company it is only to ensure its longetivity, when the funder Anita Ruddick sold it part of the contract was that ALL funds were to remain in the bodyshop company. with globalization sometimes smaller companies have to associate with larger ones in order to survive, its sad but true.

Bodyshop is still all good in the hood

I have to admit, I'm still very, very uncomfortable about them being owned by L'Oreal (which in turn is partially owned by Nestle, which are... scary). I'd much rather shop at Lush - aside from the fact that they CLEARLY mark which products are vegan (which are about 85% of them!) and are dedicated to fighting animal testing, I think they smell better!

Imagine being so thirsty that you drink water contaminated with raw sewage.

But now Nestlé is going into poor countries like Pakistan and buying up whatever clean water is available so they can sell it in plastic bottles to Europeans, Australians, and Americans.
This is just appalling. SumOfUs was created to use the collective power of consumers worldwide to stop corporate abuses -- and it doesn't get any worse than this.

These are the poorest people in the world -- and they have no chance against a corporate giant like Nestlé unless the rest of us stand with them.

Nestlé's annual meeting is next week in Switzerland, and we urgently need to get campaigners on the ground as senior management and shareholders arrive.
