scared  Yikes... that's creepy.
Humans have got to stop toying with nature. Experimenting with life is just wrong.

heh. So they want to basically be able to do animal testing..with humanised animals so it's more reliable. I get it.. but.. I can't imagine it. It is something unnatural so.. I'm not sure.

I would be curious to see what came out of this. But I worry... it's not possible to mix human and sperm and animal eggs.. so how do they make it work??? Can something actually be born from this with tampering.. and if so .. how is that.. thing.. treated?

I guess they could probably.. grow..something, but I can't imagine any life in it. :

But then again, maybe they will and there will be animals with a voice. Shame it would never be heard though, they couldn't allow that to pass in to societys knowledge.

I remember when just cloning was controversial, but a human-animal hybrid … I mean, we already share traits with animals/insects already, do we really want to create something that doesn't occur naturally? IMO, no.

you'd probably manage to cross humans with chimps considering that our their dna is 98% the same as ours. but i don't think there would be many other species that it would work for. Different species do naturally interbreed, though it is rare, but the offspring are sterile. Ligers, mules etc.

Wretched.
What drives people, "scientist" or not, to do something like this? Mad, sick, twisted people.
Earth is not our playground. Animals, plants, life are not our toys.

Ugh. Am I the only one who just can't get my head around all the disgusting things "scientists" do to life?

Ok, I did a bit more reading in to this..

They arn't creating hybrids. They are only getting it to embryo stage, if it is successful they have to destroy it within 14 days.

So it really is just research in to early stage cells.

But yea, it then brings up the question of how far is too far.

And they do have the ability to have animals with human cells in them. Looks like the other experiments it was talking about it stuff like.. pigs with human blood so they can test on the pigs but get clearer results for humans. Etc.

So yea. Just opens the door to 'better' animal testing.

Tut.

But at least we know that we won't be seeing a tiger with pms or dogs with alcohol addictions. Although I would be curious for a way for the animal race to have a voice that no human could ignore.. it wouldn't be done right, so m.
