I have been trying to tell people about how terrible animal live export is and how they could make such a difference if they cut down eating meat and how cruel factory farming is and things like that, but most people just don't want to believe what I am telling them and I am sure this happens to all of you and you all know how frustrating it is!
Do you guys have trouble getting through to some people as well?
I am so glad I am part of this community filled with compassionate people who care for the animals of this Earth I would love to get more involved in the social part of the animals unleashed community and and I would love to add you!
Lots of people don't think it happens here, in Australia. They see these videos of cruelty and factory farming and because they're from overseas, they refuse to believe it's the same here. It's very frustrating
Yes it is very frustrating, people are ignorant and want to keep enjoying the taste of their food without the guilt, so they believe that things like that dont happen here. There is no getting through to some people. If you want to change peoples opinion, one thing you can do is show them the doco 'earthlings'. even though i cant bring myself to watch it, it seems to change peoples views quick smart!
Oh yeah! Tell me about it! My friends don't believe me on anything!
I tell them how good it is to vegetarian, for the animals! They reply " Nothing happens here!. " It is sooooooo annoying. These our what they usually say back to me if i say anything.
" Sure! How do they know? "
" Nothing happens here! "
" So? Their just animals "
" Show me a video. Actually don't. There is none! "
" How do they know? They don't. They are lieing. "
" NO! sure. lieing lieing lieing. "
" they dont hurt them. they dont skin them alive! they just give them rat poison and they die " <- THAT STILL HURTS THEM. THERE SO....... HEARTLESS.
" Animals were created for us to eat! "
" WHO CARES ABOUT ANIMALS " This one i get VERY angry about. I always reply " WHO THE HELL ARE YOU LOOKING AT? ME! AND THOUSANDS OF OTHERS! OMG. GO ON ANIMALS AUSTRALIA....UNLEASHED. YOU WILL FIND SO MANY AWESOME PEOPLE WHO CARE! "
I am so sad, they don't care for animals. D;
& they L.O.V.E to watch videos oh these poor animals getting abused. I AM SO MAD. i actual don't like them anymore. I think they can go be heartless, people, by themselves. I'll find some people who care for animals like i do!
I know exactly what you mean! Almost all of my friends say things like that to me aswell everytime I try to tell them about it and when I say the simplest things like asking them to sign the petition to ban animal live export, they would just be like "Nelly, don't start this again! If we ban it, the economy will be ruined" it gets me frustrated because money is no where near as important as lives!!

But, my friends wouldn't give a sh*t about any animals life. D':
Over time, you begin to see what methods do and do not work with the majority of people... and I've discovered that arguing about 'humane treatment' keeps the argument away from the real issues. One being is that animals do NOT belong to us and they are NOT our property.. and they most definitely do NOT need to be killed by herbivorous humans for such frivolities like palette preferences, entertainment, 'research' and clothing.
I am an abolitionist vegan, so until the day animals are not enslaved and slaughtered by us for ANY reason, I won't be happy (to say the least).
I would love to get more involved in the social part of the animals unleashed community and and I would love to add you!
