My friend is an asthmatic
oh dear god, i mean um,, he is a person who suffers, no, a person who is dealing with, no a person living and fulling functioning as a normal human with a defect, no a diverse airway
Cool guy right here. When has asthmatic ever been a derogatory term?

it's not PC. It's decribing them as their illness rather than seeing them as a human.
no offence but you sound very bigoted

Yeah I'm a massive bigot. You got me. Logging off now, me and Andrew Bolt are gonna go throw things at Muslims.
Apparently we cant say disabled either. Some moron with too much time on their hands decided it was offensive
Really? lol That's weird.
Surely only a small percentage of disabled people would consider it offensive (if any).
I'm disabled and the term doesn't bother me.
Ames, not that i give a crap about someone who thinks Political correctness is anything more than a hypocritical ideology spouted by the dumbest do gooders and fascists ... all I said was that the homeless guys were "obviously mentally retarded".
that sounds allot nicer than calling them mental or retards.
I might of called them handicapped but is that even PC. I dont know. It probably isnt.

My brother in Law has cerebal palsy, He always makes fun of himself. It mostly affects his legs and he is always telling me he has '' jiggley legs ''
My friend who is aborigional always pays himself out also for being aborigional. Hes the first person to say aborigional jokes and all of that. I think it's good when someone can have humour about something that usually they would take offence to

I don't understand why you keep almost attacking people who aren't even in the conversation? Is there some tough guy persona that you're trying to pull off? If not, can we please just talk?

oh but you see, it doesn't matter what disabled people actually think, it only matters what the privileged uni students demand is offensive.
In fact they even said about 10 years ago that calling someone black was offensive, Naturally almost all black people said, "what the hell are they taking about, I'm not offended, I'm proud to be black"

Look at it this way, in a debate about racism you drop the n-word -there is an outcry. Do you still defend your use of the word or do you try and find out why the outcry and refrain from using the word in future? The r-word can be compared to the n-word on a few different levels too, but most obviously the r-word is used in a derogitory sense most of the time, so it doesn't take a genius to figure out why someone would find it offensive. personally i wouldn't use "handicapped" either for the same reason. It's just as easy to say 'xxx appears to have a disability'.
