Veganism is not about perfection. It is about minimizing animal cruelty. Being 100% cruelty-free is impossible.
I am vegan - I avoid eating or using animal products and products tested on animals to the very best of my ability - That's what it's all about.
Every little bit DOES make a difference. Which brings me to one of my favourite quotes:
"No one could make a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could do only a little." -Edmond Burke
I'm addicted to smoking, it has pigs blood in the filters. No one can truly rid themselves 100% of animal derived products. Veganism for most people is not about purity but about causing the smallest amount of harm to the environment, our health and most importantly, the animals.

You really should give that up. Smoking is not a necessity and its causing you harm, and the animals.

Yah, giving that up would do you, the animals, and other people good. You have support on here too!
I know I should give up, but it's not as easy as it sounds. I had given up, but then one of my friends who knows I had was constantly on my back offering, so I agreed. What harm could one do right? Wrong. The only reason I had managed to quit initally was because I was put in a training center for a period of time and I was forced to go cold turkey, with no other option. It's not just a physical addiction, but a psychological addiction. But I'm proud to say I've gone down from a pack of 20 every day (its all i could afford) to a couple a week. I just have to work out other methods of stress relief during those times I give in.

I'm proud of you too! Good on you! I know smoking can be difficult to quit (I've had family members who have tried repeatedly), and you're making an effort and cutting back which I think is just brilliant!

Good on you! Maybe you should buy something else? Like a lolly or something to give your hands, mouth and mind something to do!
You can order free quit packs online. They take a while to arrive though, I ordered one for my sister a few weeks ago but according to her it still hasn't arrived. Quitting smoking is harder than just 'okay, I'll stop smoking now', it's an addiction, it's not going to go away over night.

exactly. I wouldn't be able to order the pack, my mum would be a little suss if she saw that in the mail!
