Is it just me or does anyone else hate it when dogs r judged purely on their breed or size?? i myself have been surrounded by dogs of all different breeds my whole life and i wouldnt want it any other way. I found it ridiculous when I take my dog Honky, a ridgeback x mastiff, for a walk and ppl cross the road to avoid going near her. She's a very gentle and loving dog and has never hurt anyone! I also find it ridiculous that many ppl want to try to ban breeds such as pitbulls because of unfortunate incidents. these incidents should condemn all of them. I was wondering if anyone else shared my point of view??

Certain breeds are certainly predisposed to have certain tendencies.... much like sheep herding dogs and jack russels are super high energy as they're suited for finding things, some dogs can be more likely to be aggressive, problem is.. alot of the time these "bad" breeds are owned by people who want them because of their rep/behaviour and then it all plays out badly. For example there are alot of "bad ass" white try hard bogans near where I am and they are the kind of people to do that kind of thing.. you know...get an ugly car, put a sthn cross tattoo, get a pitbull.

if you raise a dog well trained then you shouldn't have a problem, thing is a lot of people don't train their animals at all.

I got attacked by a rottweiler as a child, but I know they're not all bad, all about the owners... they need to be aware of an animals predispositions and act accordingly

I find that with the "tough guys" who have the "pit bull" in the back of the ute, the dog is usually really friendly because it is socialised and gets to go to the worksite each day.
My mate who is a (white guy) painter brings his dog to work every day which is great for the dog.
It's the ones that are locked in the back yard that are the most aggressive.

And i dont think people are that judgemental. When my family had a staffy (he was huge) people would stop all the time to pat him, without even asking permission.

There are heaps of people with big dogs, they are a great deterrent for thieves, so for every person who is scared of big dogs, I'm sure there are 100 who love big dogs or at least know a big dog.

I get offended when people get their kids and leave when I take my dog to the off-leash park. I understand it, but at the same time, they are giving their kids an unwarranted fear of dogs which can be problematic.
My dog is large and that's their problem. He is a golden retriever x german shepherd but he's such a sweetheart and loves kids.

I hate it when people are like that.

I was walking my dog Coco, a shepherd X kelpie, so a small dog right? She is a beautiful, sweet dog.

She motioned towards a little child who was walking beside us with her mother, and the mum is like "That dog almost bit your nose off!" and dragged her kid away.

What the hell?

That is madness! I really hate it when people judge the hunting dogs though, like a pointer and all other breeds. They don't even know the dog's personality!

But honestly i have never met a staffy or pitty that was dangourus, they were such sweet dogs and so kind and caring happy
