FYI percentage of the Australian population thought to be vegetarian is up to around 5% from what I understand. But figures are a lil sketchy and with UK and US being around 3% (that's about 8 million ppl in the US btw!) I'd call 3% a more accurate estimate. Our population is currently about 22,700,071 so that's around 680,000 and 227,000 at your (worst) estimate. The percentage is growing though, which I guess is the only reason as to why you're so defensive Cassie3. Add to that the current cancer research findings on red meat consumption and I guess if I were you I'd be a little concerned about my livelihood too...

And where were you Follz, when the droughts raged and the kangaroos were bogging up to their eyeballs in drying creeks etc.  Sitting in your ivory tower whilst we evil beef producers put the poor bloody macropods out of their misery.  You make me spew with your self righteous rot.
Sorry Cassie, I'm not an omnipotent and omnipresent demigod. I promise I will be there next time to ease the suffering of all beings in mortal peril.

I may make you spew, but at least I will never live and breath in this world where I profit from the death of others..

There was a vegetarian beef producer?!
Well his wife was but she helped him to run the place so pretty much. Or maybe they were pig producers, it doesn't make that much difference really though.

Hoping to reason with the unreasonable.  Yep I'm out of here.  You can continue preaching to each other and swapping recipes. Sadly my buddies are correct when they said to me 'don't waste your time'.  Cheers

You won't darken our doorstep Follz.  Don't make me laugh. You will stay cosied up in your little ivory tower throwing verbal daggers at we on the land.  Be honest.

If you can't convince them with reason, baffle them with bullshit.

Adios.

My friend's parents are vegetarian beef producers, they're also the proud grandparents of a third generatrion vegetarian. I don't know them personally so don't know the hows or whys but they do exist!

I don't think AA is at all interested in a healthy debate, far from it.  There maybe a small number of members who are interested in hearing the other side but they are shot down in flames if they dare show any understanding.  On the whole AA is full of bullies with attitude.  Not likely to gleen any understanding from the mainstream population.  Cheers
well i for one am glad you are taking time out to educate us.
The points you've brought up, I've never heard them a  million times by people who assume I know nothing about my own decisions let alone arguments from the other side of the fence.
I never knew how heartless, racist and cruel eating vegetables can be. Thankyou cassie

I don't need to be defensive because I am 100% sure that your chances of converting the world to a vegan diet is buckleys and none.  Bring on a famine in this country and you will eat your pet dog.  You won't starve my friend.  Don't kid yourself.
