I have to assume most of us:
-are vegan or vegetarian
-email ALOT of people through animals australia
-tell our friends about whats going on (though its seldom that they care)
-donate/buy merchandise
-sometimes go to protests
but other than that, what can we do?
I feel like I could be doing so much more just no idea how
You could read more? Knowledge is arguably your best friend when it comes to activism. I find despite having been vegan since '06, I've barely scratched the surface with what I know about what I am and do.
Things to bone up on:
Nutrition
Philosophy
Animal Welfare Law
Economics
Environmental science
Agricultural practices
etc...
Since most discussion involves making claims to support a position, it would serve you well to know what you're talking about and how/why you arrived at your position (e.g. Why is a veg*n diet healthier than a meat-eating one? Why should we care about Live Exports? What's wrong with it?)
iloveanimals, you are doing *so* much, thank you!!
Some of us will *never* feel like we are doing enough to help animals, not while there are still factory farms, live exports, and other horrible things that happen out of sight and out of mind for most people.
But rest assured you're not alone - we are all doing these things, and together they really add up and make a big difference for animals. Just check out how many animals Unleashed members are helping just by taking them off their plates: http://www.unleashed.org.au/change_the_world/life_saving_counter/ !
If you want to do even more then you're in the right place. There are some great suggestions above. Take a look through the activism forum here for other ideas: http://www.unleashed.org.au/community/forum/?c=7
Great question. I have been having the same thoughts.
Thanks for the ideas people. Yes indeed information is a very loyal ally when trying to educate. I was thinking today I need some more Aussie statics whilst in a discussion.
Being Vegan doesn't free an animal life, if saves poor animals to be born into a life of suffering which is good but I wish it was a case of the animals allocated for you to eat you could free
PS no rational thought was put into that last sentence; purely emotional.

Hi everyone, all the CREW at Vegan Era totally understand what you mean. It can sometimes feel like you are banging your head against a brick wall it seems that hard to get the message out there. If you ever need anything, we have a heap of free information for you http://www.veganera.com/Resources.htm
If you did want to help out in anyway, we go to local communities holding seminars about adopting a Vegan lifestyle. We talk about the health and environmental benefits.
We always need assistance in getting the message out to the wider public.
If you ever wanted to help, please let us know. We are always looking for new and cool ideas to spread the message about our seminars.
