Q: You recently stopped being a vegan. Why?

A: "I still believe that a plant-based diet has tremendous health benefits but I have incorporated more animal protein into my diet. I found that my body personally got to a point where I needed something more. I used to yell at people who said that, but now all of a sudden, my body just kind of went, 'I need something.'"

Argh....!!! How ridiculous. He did so much for veganism and animals in the little time he was vegan. Now, he's just gone and told the world (as a perceived authority figure in fitness) that the vegan diet doesn't give you enough. I'm so.... angry  sad

Pfft... what a BIG LOSER. wink

I can't understand how a vegan could just stop being vegan. There are plenty of vegan body builders out there.
Maybe he tripped and hit his head during one of his fitness routines and lost some brain cells.

it annoys me that people can say such things and go back on their word , it is sort of like break up with a relationship or a divorce but this is completely different (obviously), if his body is lacking something then maybe he should eat better things to make his body satisfied with his diet but if he goes back on his word then he probably wasn't as strong of a vegan as he implied , i couldn't think of eating meat again, it may sound werird but i think im going to vomit thinking about biting a piece of flesh * GAGGG*

It makes me think about attitude change and how going vegan for health reasons is less likely to motivate someone to remain vegan than going vegan for the animals. He went vegan after reading Skinny Bitch, which is health-based (though does mention some farming practices).

I wonder: had he done the Earthlings route instead, would he still be vegan?

I think because there's obviously other ways besides being vegan to be healthy.. But there's no other way to avoid animal cruelty, than being vegan..

I'd like to hear how he absolved the ethical and moral stances he took prior to his regression, apart from health.
