If you're happy to put a draft up when you have one, I'm happy to critique in a polite manner. wink

I don't want to tell you 'how' to do it as I don't know you writing style, I don't know what is behind your passion and I don't know the readership of the newspaper you want to send this to.

My tips would be:

- Be overly polite. You want to reach people that think animal rights activists are 'over the top'. Don't give them reason to even think you're 'that sort' of activist. You're just a compassionate person in their community.
- Reference to recent sources that you believe the facts are solid (research this!). Try to find something close to local as possible so it relates better.
- The shorter and more simplistic it is, the better. More chance of being published and more chance of a person reading it all. Easier to digest.
-If there is a local event/incident that recently happened that you could link to it without looking like your abusing it, that might help draw in some eyeballs.

Sure, do u think I could copy and paste different things from different sites onto a page then make it into a letter?

As a means to get your foundations going, sure, go for it! Just make sure you do reference the original author if you end up using their wording instead of expressing it in our own way (which I'm sure you would of heard a teacher rant at you about at some point in time).

Any stats, definitely put a source and a date. Even if people don't recognise the source or look it up, it will make them look more legit and block them from instantly assuming the figure/s are a lie.
