I try not to take ads like this seriously, I would go insane otherwise!
However the sam kekovich ones get particularily fustrating...

It was bad enough for me seeing "we all buy sausages" on a bus stop advert but what really made me angry was walking into my local coles and not just seeing one ad but the whole store was literally wallpapered in "because we all buy meat" ads.
You would think in this day and age that the ad's concept would be thoroughly reviewed before given the go-ahead. You don't have to be a veggie to realize how wrong those adverts are.
You know, I was just thinking about how much this add campaign shits me off the other day.
First it was "Because we all buy milk," and yeah, I was irked, but I got what they were trying to do: it's a staple in most houses.
Then, "Because we all buy hot chicken." This was pushing it a little.
But now... "Because we all buy meat/eggs/cheese/ice cream." It's getting absurd and frustrating.
No, you know, we don't all buy those products. Why aren't I seeing ad campaigns declaring, "Because we all buy brocolli."? Why no posters at the bus stop emblazoned with the phrase "Because we all buy carrots."?
Oh, yeah, because eating your veggies isn't cool, and because we need constant brain-washing, normalizing advertising campaigns to keep us purchasing animal products that are bad for our health, our planet and the animals.
Just been reading through the latest comments at the Coles facebook page. If Coles have any sense they will get the message that they need to consider their veg*n customers too.
I have sent them a message on their feedback form, I remained calm and explained that this campaign promotes bullying. By suggesting "EVERYONE" buys meat, they're aiding the social stigma that vegan or vegetarian diet for whichever reason is "weird", "unnatural" and "wrong". I did get a bit cheeky and requested "Please let me know when this campaign is off the airwaves and off your walls so I can consider shopping at your establishment. It's a shame, because I prefer Coles to Woolworths, however, Woolworths don't help society buy into the idea that it's ok to bully people for a dietary decision."
Yes I posted something very similar on Coles FB page Yes I'm Vegan But I don't Drink Cow Secretions which is all they advertise. And Non Dairy Milk is anything but Down -_-
