I meant the gelatine constituent to most chewy lollies. I'm sure that a lot of Coles' meat is organic, as per the advertising spin, but that means little to me nowadays!
I have never been able to eat anything that contains gelatine in it ever since I found out where it came from as a child. Which is funny 'cause everyone would be scoffing down jellyslices and stuff and I'd be feeling like I was going to throw up just thinking of it. And all because someone informed me what was IN the food I was consuming. And I thank them for that because these things that we're fed as children, they're things that are from day one pretty much what everyone considers 'yummy' yet...if only I had known all those years I was consuming it. It disturbed me more than meat itself.
It's woeful, isn't it? People feed their kids that crap all day, and you see them getting hyperactive on lollies and jelly at birthday parties and the like.
What disturbs me most about their campaigns is that $1 litres of milk and cheaper meat means that people are going to be buying more, lower quality food. They're just going to increase the demand of the product, they're just going to cause more animal cruelty, more death and disease, more health issues to emerge.
At the end of the day, I think it's all going to rest in the hands of the consumer. If people CARE they won't buy it, but people don't WANT to care. They want to have milk readily available at $1 so they can team it with their slightly stale $1 loaf of bread and pack their trollies higher with sausages and chicken wings that cost next to nothing.
Don't they question WHY these products are declining in price? The quality, the increase in demand, what they're consuming.
All I know is that their $1 bread is something people have complained to be 'slightly stale and only good for toast' so it makes me wonder about the meat and milk...
omg i watched that jamie oliver chicken nugget experiment fail, i cant believe those kids still wanted to eat it!! That really does prove how kids are brainwashed
