Re: Vegepet. I'm pretty sure that it's made in Australia and Veganpet definitely is (except the canned food is NZ made).
I'm fairly certain that it's imported. Vegepooch are only suppliers of the product. Whenever we've ordered it, the bags and boxes have come in another language..
Yeah, I emailed them re: the food and it's made in Taiwan although it's not irradiated as others have also pointed out.

Veganpet is definitely Australian though.

I agree that the original price of the foods is reasonable for the dog food. It's the postage that kills me! It adds another 50-100% to the price depending on the site. I wish there was something I could pick up from a supermarket!

Rabbit food?? LOL aren't they already vegan? tongue
Haha true if I have a pet rabbit I wouldn't even buy commercial pet food. I would feed him/her fresh veggies like rabbits are naturally supposed to eat happy

Sorry guys but this isn't a good idea. Dogs need to eat meat, though not what we want them to do, it is how it is, end of story. Buy them organic free range. Please don't put your dogs at risk by feeding them no meat.

Well there are actually quite a few vegan dogs out there that are doing pretty well. I live with my family though and they definitely won't allow me to turn Buddy vegan :p

It's the cats that we have to worry about... they have a MUCH higher protein and fat requirement than dogs. If I have a cat I would definitely not feed him/her 100% vegan.

Read this, and then never speak again please
http://thevegantruth.blogspot.com.au/search/label/100%20Vegan-Eating%20Dogs

My dog is actually featured on there, he is amazingly healthy compared to when he ate meat, and i feed him biopet, veganpet and veggiepooch!

I also just rescued a cat and I'm looking to turn him vegan, but is seems veganpet is literally the only vegan cat food in Australia
It's very frustrating because i want to try the vegecat PH supplement, so i will try and work out how to get some to aus, and if anyone wants some information i can post back here for you =D
my little dude prefers veggie burgers over meat.

and before i get a lecture about how cats can't be vegan, i will be monitoring his health very very closely and transitioning him slowly. The vitamins and minerals in commerical cat food are all synthetic and added, so there is NO difference in feeding them vegan food except that you need to get their PH correct (and lets be honest with ourselves here, how many people actually monitor their cats urine PH besides someone who is concerned)
contrary to popular belief more non vegan cats than vegan ones end up with flutd.
And if i am monitoring his urine PH there is NO WAY he can get it, which is another reason i desperately want the vegecat PH.

Veganpet is DEFINITELY Australian, and made here. I have talke to the women who owns the store. Also, she gets it made at a Australian University, and lives in Nar Nar Goon. YOu can order it straight from her site.
