Anyone thought about doing it? Anyone done it?
You can intern either in the US, in Norfolk, Virginia..

or, in Manilla, Philippines...

You can intern, I think, from anywhere between 2 weeks and 6 months.
Accommodation isn't a problem; they house you at a PETA house/condo with other interns (yes, other vegans so no feeling weird when people dig into their chicken/steak etc)
Food isn't a problem; a weekly allowance of $75 is paid, so you can go shopping with other interns, or eat out.
You also learn heaps of skills you can apply when you get back to Australia; all types of writing, working with the media, organizing demos, protests, stalls etc etc.
All you have to pay for is flights! Norfolk, VA is only, I think, about 5 hours outside NYC. So you could go intern for 2 months or something, then with extra money you have, go up to NYC, Washington DC, Philadelphia and stuff for a week or two.
I dunno, but it sounds a like a pretay, pretay cool thing to do in a gap year.
