I know...we just couldn't believe it. So sad. We can't listen to people talking about it anymore...we just block our ears and think about pretty butterflies and flowers being free in the fields....ha ha, sounds so hippie - love it!  peace_out

i know what you mean, it drives me insane how my friends and family get so invovled in horse racing. becouse my mum and sisters know people who are jockeys and trainers they only see the "nice" side of racing - the glitz and glamour. They pretty much think im insane for not supporting horse racing.

I always tell them of horses that fall on the track, just to show them that what i tell them inst fales or incorrect and yet they still think horse racing is just wonderful. i just have to completly ignor them when they speak about it now angry ...

is the melbourn cup on tomoz?

Yeah it is....well I think so. From memory it is the first Tuesday of November.

Oh geeze, we know what you mean. I had my father talk to me about how compassionate and amazing my brother is with animals...the most out of anyone - and he owns a butcher and a diary farm. Where is that OMG and YIKES Button...ha ha.

Clearly I had to say, sorry day, but I can't talk about this with you.

omg i totally feel your pain >.<

i hate how dad says my pop was compassionate about animals and that he loved them. My pop had a butcher, beef and sheep farm, owned and operated a slaughterhouse, trained greyhounds and horses for racing, produced milk from his large dairy farm for the locals. is that compassion for animals? i dont think so.

Dad also says that he loves animals - but he runs a beef farm sad

i love my dad and pop, but i hate when im compared on my compassion for animals with my pop. i used to get into so many arguments with my pop over animals befor he passed away. Now my sisters are into horse riding and want to go into the horse racing industry - argh does it ever end tongue ..

dad always say's " this is a production propety" becouse when ever i see a animal in pain i tend to somehow 99% of the time bring it home. for example - 2 weeks ago i went ot the cattle sales to document the cruelty that was happening there, iv been a few times now, but this time a saw a 2 day old calf, emaciated and couldnt walk. i couldnt go home without it. i bought her at the auction for $70. i went and got the car and started to carry her out to the car when the auctioneer said " do u want this one too? she is going the the abbitor if no1 buys her" so i bought her as well. when i bought them home dads first question was " are you going to produce calfs from them and milk them? sell the calfs for veal?" i said no. dad replyed with " there not going to go to waste like the rest of your cattle!" .. i *signed* and said " dad, in all serious-ness could you kill these beautiful aniamls? no, what right do you have to take away a life? none, how would you feel if some1 did this to you? you wouldnt like it would you? no. So why do you do this to another creature? do you like to abuse your right to power over another?. I think you need to sit down and re-think your morals, come back and talk to me after you have seriously thought about what i asked you"

dad talked to me at dinner, and to my suprise he said " your right"

That is really cool that your father was open to listen to you. I am always so amazed when our parents are able to listen to what we say with out getting angry.
There parents might not have been as forgiving as what they are.

Our world is changing so much. There is a massive shift going on.

We are doing semainrs, and we come acorss some conflict. We present things in a very compassionate manner without jamming anything down there throats. The information is presented and we say "You can make up your own mind".
People who get angry with us, you can tell that there are hearts are open, but there minds block their love and compassion. Sometimes when that happens, conflict arises inside them and that is the only way they know how to communicate.

I think after our last seminar, it took me a week to get back to normal. All the negativity smashed us....ha ha, but it is all fun.

What an amazing world we live in. So much love and beauty.
