omg i totally feel your pain >.<

i hate how dad says my pop was compassionate about animals and that he loved them. My pop had a butcher, beef and sheep farm, owned and operated a slaughterhouse, trained greyhounds and horses for racing, produced milk from his large dairy farm for the locals. is that compassion for animals? i dont think so.

Dad also says that he loves animals - but he runs a beef farm sad

i love my dad and pop, but i hate when im compared on my compassion for animals with my pop. i used to get into so many arguments with my pop over animals befor he passed away. Now my sisters are into horse riding and want to go into the horse racing industry - argh does it ever end tongue ..

dad always say's " this is a production propety" becouse when ever i see a animal in pain i tend to somehow 99% of the time bring it home. for example - 2 weeks ago i went ot the cattle sales to document the cruelty that was happening there, iv been a few times now, but this time a saw a 2 day old calf, emaciated and couldnt walk. i couldnt go home without it. i bought her at the auction for $70. i went and got the car and started to carry her out to the car when the auctioneer said " do u want this one too? she is going the the abbitor if no1 buys her" so i bought her as well. when i bought them home dads first question was " are you going to produce calfs from them and milk them? sell the calfs for veal?" i said no. dad replyed with " there not going to go to waste like the rest of your cattle!" .. i *signed* and said " dad, in all serious-ness could you kill these beautiful aniamls? no, what right do you have to take away a life? none, how would you feel if some1 did this to you? you wouldnt like it would you? no. So why do you do this to another creature? do you like to abuse your right to power over another?. I think you need to sit down and re-think your morals, come back and talk to me after you have seriously thought about what i asked you"

dad talked to me at dinner, and to my suprise he said " your right"
Thats a beautiful story! Im sorry, but I just don't really see the difference between a cow, and a dog, or a pig and a cat! Or a horse! Im sure if my dad had the property and the money, he wouldn't mind if I kept on rescuing dogs, cats, and horses, but once I bring home a cow... he'll be all over it, saying to 'eat, milk, sell'

I just don't understand how people see cows, pigs, sheep ect as different animals than dogs, cats, and birds!

I made a status update on Facebook about horse racing. Why am I getting so many negative 'extremist' comments? cry The entire industry is SO cruel - there's nothing extremist about being informed.

i know Chewie, i made a status about it the other day and got hudreads of comments by jockeys, race trainers and horse " lovers" even my own family were all supportive for the people who are in the industry.

One think they all had in commen ( that commented on my page ) they were all ignorant and only cared about the prize money, not 1 out of the 20 odd people that commented cared about the horses. One person said that she didnt care that the horses got injured or slaughtered, she only cared about the fame and fourtune. its truely a blood sport

Well.... birds minus chickens sad
SIGH, yes. How stoopid are some people! Chickens are just as smart, pretty, and lovable as the average parrot!

The article posted around some of facebook friends pages, seeing the comments from their friends was so dis-heartening.
Have to keep our heads down and keep on sending the loving, compassionate messages out there and hope one day their hearts will turn around.

this post made me cry cry

"It kills me that the jockeys, horse trainers and owners are the one’s celebrated over a win when it was the horses who were flogged and brutally forced in this race who deserve the recognition. As well as the huge fuss made over the men and women dressed in their designer outfits and ridiculous hats."
