What about the Hairy Nosed Wombat project. There is currently a program in South East Queensland and my family are involved in this. They have given land and it has been fenced off and the wombats have been brought from Clermont in central Queensland to this piece of land in SE Qld and a hopefully successful breeding program is happening. Maybe too far for you though as I gather you are at uni in NSW.
