I have left animal lib vegan boycott flyers lying around and caged eggs stickers, but I think they would've laughed and put them away.
My partner still lives at home with his parents and I stay there on the regular.
He eats meat himself he also knows how stubborn his parents can be on this topic, so it makes my situation a little harder, 3 against 1 in an argument.
Although he does tell his parents to listen because he knows that I know alot about the matter and I make alot of sense  but there is only so much he can do
I can imagine how awkward it can be for him.
I'm thinking of slipping in a flyer from animals australia when they're not looking  in their news paper every Sunday, I know it's bit crazy but then atleast they'll see it's an actual fact, not just me making up false facts.
I suppose with older people it also depends on the culture they're brought up in and what their friends and family believed in, I became aware of everything through my partners friends who are all vegan, they really inspired me and opened my mind up about alot of things
I also find with older people (not all) that they don't really listen to the younger generation when it comes to such topics because they are so custom to how they've been brought up

frankly these people sound like they're doing it to get a reaction from you. They'll never listen to you, if they're ever going to make the connection they'll only do it on their own terms. If they start arguing with you tell them that "frankly it is your choice, you are taking care of your health and it is none of their business anyway. If they're not going to attempt to understand your position then the least they can do is respect that it is a part of who you are and you're sick and tired of being treated like a second class citizen because of their prejudice" (use the word respect in their and make it clear that they're behaving like children, you're going to have to make them feel guilty - if they're capable). I would suggest that if you ever eat with them that you always bring your own dish. You could try making a pact with them, that if they'll keep their mouth shut you'll do the same. Some people are a lost cause.

Try the *insert human organ here* is healthy, does that mean it's a good idea to harvest them for consumption?

Next time take your own food, something that they are going to drool over but explain that they wouldn't dare eat vegan food because they will get so sick

There's a reason a lot of people refer to their in-laws as 'out-laws'... me included.

My suggestion? Go with the advice above. Take your own food and prepare it yourself. And the next time they have something to say about your values, simply tell them you'll have to agree to disagree, and leave it at that.

We all want to change things for the better, but sometimes it's best to let sleeping dogs lie. Particularly where your sanity is involved.

People are so annoying these days. ( Not you awesome people ) those kind of people who think vegans and vegetarians are like ' stupid ' ( Or am i the only person on here whos friends call me stupid? ) and say that we're so unhealthy.

Does anyone get this? Someone said this to me

" It is better to eat meat than being vegetarian...... vegetarians are eating what animals are meant to be eating! Your ruining their lifes! " WTF? Does that mean he is trying to tell me that I eat grass that the animals are meant to eat??

Because if that what he meant, I don't see me eating grass? And animals eating tofu??

Does anyone know what he meant?

In response to this, I'd like to quote Woody from Toy Story: The word I'm searching for I can't say because there's preschool toys present...

*spits grass out of her mouth* he meant to say "I am stupid and don't like people being different to me"
Haha I haven't had anyone call me stupid to my face luckily. I was told by a friends mum that i was bad for the environment because all my veggies came from the amazon. She was an ex vego, so I assume she needs things to convince her it is good to eat meat. I didn't argue with her, it was my first time meeting her and she was allowing me to eat her food, so I just left it.

When I first became vegan I got very defensive and felt that I had to justify my beliefs with everyone.

I've been vegan for 4 years now and don't find it a problem anymore. My omni fam & friends will also go out of their way to cater for me happy

I think there are two types of omni's to deal with:
- those that make "stupid" veg*n comments and who are just wanting a reaction from you.
- those who are genuinely interested or may not agree with your beliefs but respect them.

I don't push my belief's on them and expect the same in return. I will discuss veg*n with people who are genuinely interested but don't waste my time on those who aren't.
