So. I don't mind soy milk.. it took me awhile to get used to it, but now I can easily cook with it, have it in cereal etc. Though sometimes it still turns me off a little... it might make a hot chocolate less enjoyable. Though I can't drink regular cows milk either, too strong! And I don't want to.

I've been on the soy milk for years.. now I'm thinking of trying oat milk. Looks like my local safeway has two brands of it available.. pure harvest and vitasoy.

Anyone recommend one over the other? happy

You no read my story...

THIS ONE STORE

got it in...

as a change because they ran out of cafe' naturally they use the cafe' variety..

how hard is it when you order a coffee to look over and see the milk they pour into it...

they aren't doing it behind a veil ... or using magic...

JUST LOOK and if it is purple... and vitasoy.. don't drink it...

if it is cafe'... then spank a monkey

when they used something new.. he got me to check it out
before he was going to drink it

there are apps now ... where you type the enumber.. (food number/any number in the ingredients) and it will tell you its name and if it is safe.

I use:

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/cliffordmarsden/additives.html

Because i'm not savy with iPoos and telephony
LOL I read your story - but turns out our Gloria Jeans had the purple one too sad
Thanks for that link happy
Unfortunately the only way to find out if most of the additives are of animal origin is to ask the producers directly.
They should have to state if it is animal or vegetable origin on the pack...

If you hate soy that much just don't drink it... it's not like it's stated anywhere that to be vegan you have to drink soy milk! Just use rice milk, hemp or almond milk. There are lots of alternatives out there. Also I find that soy milk tastes very different depending on which company you buy from. I prefer Sanitarium but try a few different ones. Maybe there's one you'll like out there.
As we come away from all the processed foods, the meat and dairy especially our taste buds changed. I think my biggest one was beans... I HATED them... the flavour, the texture especially but I really wanted to like them so after a few goes I really love them now!
New foods can sometimes take getting used to.

I don't know Pure Harvest but I recommend them over Vitasoy since I DO KNOW that Vitasoy is owned by a dairy company. Yuck.

I know it's illogical, but because the word "soy" is in the title of the Vitasoy one, I automatically gravitate to Pure Harvest.  I used it, nuttelex and some cheezely mozzarella in mash last night and it tasted absolutely fine.  Delicious in fact.

I'm waiting to find out if off oat milk smells like off cow's milk.  I somehow managed to spill oat milk on my pants on the way to work this morning and I'm hoping it won't start to reek.
