was talking specifically, generally I can't speak for the industry...
but in what i've heard in chatter alone they exhibited to me what people know as a show of respect,
showing they can even bother to understand the animal/thing/person in question.
and.... respectively... doing something in favour of those judgements...
whether it being going to the auctions to look for quality/quantity or a new lovable pet...
or seeking the most instantaneous and least cruel manner of getting the animal from the paddock to the fridge, sequentially.
but their ideas of what that thing is...may not be entirely sound ethically...
though often that is just the condition in which people are raised...but morally..
based on how they are raised and the era of struggle to have food to eat.. it is justified but with surplus there is nothing just about causing things like this to occur, MORE than before, when it should be much less and in the luxury, we have the ability to improve
so I mean... recognizing the animals sensitivities is respect enough to use the word,
i feel in comparison to people who torture animals... with those same ideas in mind,
but showing none of that in any notably compassionate way...
I can respect aforementioned butchers for not being the worst case, and I would hope they aren't the best...
because I can think of much better...
but if they were amazing... respect wouldn't come into it as i'd then be looking to the future
