i just don't get how people can fish and enjoy it. even though if they release it back into the wild, they still hurt the fish. it' just like having a hook in yur mouth and all yur weight being lifted up. so fishing should stop
I use to go fishing... and I don't understand how I did. What people don't know, is that even if you catch+release, there is still a chance the fish will be brain-damaged due to no oxygen getting to their brain. Their eyes can also pop-out due to the pressure on them out of the water. Pretty disgusting stuff...
oh and on fish! yesterday I slept over at a friends house and today, for breakfast, his Mum (Russian) was asking me what I could eat (awkward!); "Is sugar okay? what about tea?" etc, etc lol. And anyway, she and my friend (her son) were having an argument over whether fish were animals or not (she didn't think they were). Very, very funny lol. Hmmmm... think I just gave you an answer lol... because fish are plants!!!
its a form of hunting and ther r some ppl that r like "oh hunting rabbits or quails or wateva is wrong" but they dont sday no to hurting a fish for fun! it is so hypocritical. its like u love one animal and harm another. wtf?
this is kind hard for me to share but here it goes.
last Saturday night when i was on my family holiday my brother steve and brother in law jarrod decided to go fishing and invited me and my father. my father said yes though i declined at first they became very persuasive that we have a guys night out as the girls were planning to stay at the house and watch chick flicks. Eventually i agreed to go as they promised that we would go to a marina and it would only be the 4 of us. We got in the car and left and drove half a hour to the marina where we sat on the rocks for around 15 mins. It was cold and i was regretting coming along and wished i stayed at the house. after another 5 mins my brother announced we were moving on to a local jetty because there were more fish there.
We drove to the jetty and on arrival i relised there were at least 20 other fisho's there. steve and jarred put their lines into the water and began to wait for fish (squid). after about 15 mins steve got a squid on his line and i watched him pull it in. I then watched him kill it. it broke my heart seeing some one i care about that much do something so horrible. Even worse was the attitude of the others on the jetty hooting, hollering and making speciest remarks .
By that point i had had more then enough and suggested to my dad that we go for a walk. We went for a walk for about 10 mins and came back. When we got back jarrod got a "bite" and pulled up yet another squid. My dad said that he thought it was horrible that some one would treat a animal that way and i agreed with him though some random bogan said "theres nothing wrong with it" then said something about stomping on their f**king head. I kept asking jarrod if we could go but he was being a real asshole and kept saying no.
about 10 mins after that steve spotted a sting ray close to the jetty and told jarrod, dad and myself. I told then not to tell anyone else on the jetty because they would kill it though unfortunately word got out and everyone began to congregate around the point of the jetty where the stingray was then some dumb c**t dropped a line in bragging he was going to catch it because he had a 10 kilo line. By this point i had more then enough and was looking for a rock to throw down at the stingray.. no to hurt it but to make it swim off. The stingray was now in the water with a fishing line dangling in front of it i wanted to do something but knew if i hit this guy i would have another 19 ready to beat me up so i pretty much stood their helplessly hoping the stingray would swim off... and thankfully it did
I told my dad that i HAD to get out of here so we went for another walk. we went for at least a hour and it was rely enjoyable. I dont rely know my dad that well, I guess i have always been to scared though that night we had a rely good chat.
after the walk we returned back and my dipshit brothers were ready to go home. We got back to the house and went straight to bed.

in conclusion all i can say is fishing is evil. After being around these people i now relise that they are rely dumb (im not just saying that) and lack the ability to appreciate nature rather feel a need to kill it. I doubt many of them have evolved past the stage of Neanderthal's and don't relise you can buy food in a store. Though despite this experience i choose to learn from it rather then regret it.
for some reason people think that fishing is a "sport" and that killing them is fun. i don't understand people like this. its wierd cos they've got pet fishes at home but they go out to kill them.
