I don't think anyone was trying to say adoption is an easy process. It is certainly not easy, which is part of the problem why more people don't choose adoption. But if you're willing to wait, and give it a try then it would be well worth it to give a child in need a loving home happy

I want to have my own children. It's something I think I was put on this earth to experience. The way I think of it is, you're not going to stop the population growing by deciding not to have a child, the rest of the world is still going to pro create, rape & destroy the earth like the cancer that we are.. I'd rather raise my own & instill them with good morals & values & at least have more good people in the world doing good things.

I have thought about adopting also & this may be something I do aswell as having my own but if I choose to it won't be because of concerns of overpopulation just out of compassion for those less fortunate.

Yeah i don't want to sound defensive, but after quite a few of us said how we think people should adopt we said it wasn't easy for everyone.

I just added my 2c as I want people who haven't looked into it to know it's not an easy walk in the park. It's a very intensive thing. You have people wanting to know the ins and outs of your life. And sadly being a vegan could be seen as a negative, it truly wouldn't surprise me if they looked down on our diets, or forced you to feed the child meat.

I would still one day consider adopting, as child birth isn't something I want to endure again any time soon lol tongue

Personally I have no idea why people would want to have kids. We have absolutely zero interest in the idea, but hey, each to their own. In years to come I'll have classrooms full of them, so my influence on the future generations will be through education.

For those of you who wish to undertake the responsibility of parenting, I extend my wishes of good luck and faith that you may make the right choices, in raising autonomous and prosperous members of the community at large.

World just needs to think smarter about the resources it uses and their relationship with their environment. Technological and societal innovation. It's easy to take a snapshot of today and extrapolate potential problems of overpopulation in the future. Too easy. Possibly myopic.  World's too bloomin' complex. I've yet to see convincing arguments from for or against camps.

If you want kids, have them. If you  believe in the whole moral correctness shebang, then by all means do what you must. No one's right. Not even the above statement.

You are not a unique and beautiful snowflake.

I really enjoyed reading off of the replies. I personally don't think there is any right and wrong either and I see pros and cons to each side. I have no idea what the future holds for me, but I guess we shall see. I'm ages away from the whole kids things anyway tongue

The look your newborn baby gives you the first time your eyes meet is why people want kids.... and all the looks you will get every day after that. Even if they are your adopted kids... the look of love in their eyes for you is something that noone else will ever show you.

I'm just going throw something in here.
What if there was a one child policy in Australia, where you could only make one child but you could adopt as many as you wished.
