BREAKING NEWS: New investigation footage from Indonesia that aired on
national TV last night has the live export industry scrambling. Your
voice is needed now!

Once again Animals Australia has been forced to be the watchdog for
Australia's live export trade.

        Dear Emma,

Many Australians are still understandably haunted by the images captured by
Animals Australia investigators of Australian cattle being brutalised in
Indonesian abattoirs.  Shock and disbelief accompanied the Gillard
government's decision to reopen the trade to Indonesia.  Few Australians
were comforted by promises of a new system that would 'assure' the
protection of Australian cattle.

New footage from Indonesia that aired on ABC television last night has
revealed our fears were well-founded. An Indonesian investigator engaged by
Animals Australia documented the treatment of cattle in slaughterhouses
over three nights and revealed that the brutal treatment of cattle
continues unabated.

This industry was given a second chance when it deserved none.

It sucks. I hate that this is happening. But what can we REALLY do?
Fact is, the less meat Australians eat, the more live export has to increase to make up for the lack of meat sales.
So then, how do we end this loop?

Is anyone going to protest this time???

Everytime we protest, more people know, more people are appalled and more go Veg!!! Even if we don't manage to End Live Export immediately (even though that should be the case) we should protest!!

I can't click the links to send letters etc to the people they mention, because my email is a text only one, but it's amazing what contact details you can find with a few google searches. peace

Just a tip, if you guys can't afford to donate to AA, when you order a live export action pack they provide a reply paid envelope, which comes in handy when sending signed petitions and letters to the office. wink
For my english application I'm going to do an oral presentation to the school about the updated expose on live export and hopefully nab a few more signatures and signed letters.
Just an idea. happy
