As a cafe owner i'll set a few things straight...
(coles)
1l long life milk costs $1
1l long life soy milk costs $1.20 (and is as good as the more expensive brands)
You can't use just any soy milk in a cafe as the cheaper ones do not steam well and make a poor coffee. Soy milk is around $2.20 a litre as opposed to $1.60 of good quality milk which most respectable coffee shops will use. There wouldn't be one coffee shop using long life milk that would be in business for long!

That does not make sense, Soy have a very long shelf life. so why does it go down the drain. keep it in the fridge guys unless you like reheat the left over full/skinny milk for coffee, which you can't do with soy

It goes down the drain the same as any excess steamed/stretched milk as you cannot re-use it.

1 Litre Bonsoy Soy milk is only $4 you can make 6 cups easily out of it, so usually cafe owners recovers the cost in their first cup.
Be smart, I own and operate a cafe in Abbotsford and never charge my customer extra for soy. so much against it

6 cups!!! You must be selling a lot of piccolos then! Your maths doesn't add up to get to 6 or you are already expensive and can absorb the costs.
Why should the cafe owner be out of pocked for your life choices? Its like anything in life you purchase, if it costs the shop more then you pay more...the costs are reflected back on the consumer. No business is going to run on a loss to appease people who's requests cost more. Its like saying you are going to give away an extra shot of espresso for free to everyone that doesn't need Soy or rice milk to make it fair! Other than that the coffee shop is over charging to begin with so can afford to offer it for 'free' at the expense of dairy drinkers.
