Weeell..i dont actually believe that animals an humans should have equal rights. Animals cant comprehend the ability to vote and such, so why would they need the right to vote you see? Just like women and men having equal rights..A women has the right to an abortion, a man has no need for that right. Hence why animals and humans don't really need equal rights.

lol..ok yeah. im done
lol, i don't think anyone is campaigning for animals to have the right to vote..

i, as an abolitionist (no, not a francione abolitionist!), -- i'm not sure you're an abolitionist? -- fight for animals to be recognized with one basic right; the right not to be treated as the property of others. this is, in my opinion, the epitome of what animal liberation is.
Your absolutely right. The rights argument tends to become confused because people have different ideas of what rights are. A better expression of the philosophy is not equal rights but equal consideration, a recognition that animals exist for their own reasons and not for the purposes of man.

There's one basic right that all animals deserve, human or non-human, and that's the right not to be property. Most of the non-human animals abused in the world are by law regarded as property.

yeah i completly understand wat your talking about. we would be horrified if the mentally challenged people were killed yet we have no problem mindlessly slaughtering innocent animals to eat.
and its not true that animals dont think or have a life, i know that cos i see my pets - for example the chooks, they each have their own personality, they each know the other chooks.
and anyone who has a cow as a pet would know how curious they are as animals
