Just a quick question, how many people think that people who only eat white meat are still a kind of vegetarians? Also people who only eat fish etc.

Personally I reckon if you eat meat at all it shouldn't be considered being a vegetarian (pesco-vegetarian etc.). I know it's better than the majority of people but I still say they have a little bit to go.

Nope, they're not vegetarian. For some reason though pescatarian (the word) doesn't bother me but when they start talking about pollatarians (is that the right word?) for people who eat chicken, I feel cranky.

Not all people who eat fish call themselves vegetarians though. My sister in law eats a mostly vegetarian diet, but on rare occasions will eat fish and she never calls herself vegetarian.

It's a total cop-out. It might sound harsh but I find it incredibly cowardice... It's like people only want the label of being vegetarian but are too lazy to commit. Fine if they only want to eat "white" meat, but they are NOT vegetarians.

People who start making up crap like pollotarian and pollo-pescatarian are obviously not doing it for the right reasons. I've even heard of a 'flexitarian', to which the girl claimed she was a 'part-time vegetarian' and "had a few cheat days every week". That is absolutely ridicuous!!
You dont change the rules to suit yourself. You change yourself to suit the rules.

personally i agree so many silly labels are being used now.. i think that some people use the labeling because they aren't coming from the same ethical stand point.. maybe a lot of those people think that they are improving their health because of dietary recommendations that have been thrown out there about red meat.. a lot of vegetarian websites are adopting these new terms which to me is odd.. before i became a proper vegetarian i would just say that i preferred a vegetarian diet whenever possible but wasn't there yet.. my issue used to be family preventing me from being a vegetarian.. however i never felt comfortable labeling myself as anything until i was sure i was going to stick to it

i personally don't believe people who eat fish or chicken are vegetarian, but have you noticed that some people don't think chickens and fish are animals? of course they are animals, its just the people not being able to commit to the vegetarian diet.

yes i agree people who eat chicken and fish are definitely not in any way vegetarian.. i even remember one teacher who was vegetarian getting major frustrated back in high school.. when one of the girl's would claim to be vegetarian but still eat chicken.. i really don't get the confusion some people have about meat.. it's either flesh or it's not!
