Animals reacting to Music?

Does your pet like a particular genre?

Music effects your moods, it can make you feel happy, sad, motivated or bring up old memories. I think this applies to animals too happy

I've noticed my pets reacting to certain types of music and it's gotten me really interested to see if anyone elses pets, or animals they've seen, react to, love or hate music.

The young boy next door to me is a fantastic piano player, i have the most lovely renditions of mozart and vivaldi filtering through my windows when he practices. I noticed my cat disappers when he plays. I thought she was scared but i found that when he starts playing, she sits at the fence nearest the point where the piano is on the other side, leans against the fence closes her eyes and purrs, she'll sit there only as long as he's playing.

It was lovely happy

pretty sure this feature front page on AA a while ago
and you can hear a lady say something like "quick get their attention"

also the other instrument playing is known as a cow bell,
as it attracts the attention of cows ~ - ~

but sure I can see them giving rave reviews of his playing.

Did you know plants react to music... just as thunder stimulates growth and wind,
the vibrations help to make their way through loosened soil.

Far less exciting I suppose than something with ears using them to hear stuff.

I listen to alot of Pop & country music or the radio and they come and sleep near me. Because its the same artists/songs theyve heard over the years i think its calming to hear the familiar music.

theres this RSPCA ad that comes on TV, dont know if youve seen it , with all these bandaged animals and really 'bouncy' type music. My dog recognises the sound straight away and stares BIG EYES at the screen. She loves the wombat at the end =P

I sing to my cats, one of them purrs when i do, the other one will get up and walk away, lol

My Dog loves the SBS news intro..

He perks up and will almost always howl along with it.

The trumpety one; or is that ABC hmmm,
we'll atleast they have pets enthused and alert! teheha
