Proposed activism: Letter writing group?

I'm a journalist for a newspaper, so I can help with some tips on getting letters published. It can be tricky (especially on 'controversial' topics) because letter publishing is always at the editor's discretion. We give a fair run to all submissions, but if a paper is constantly bombarded by the same people writing on the same issues time and time again, they'll get thrown to the bottom of the pile to give fresh and new opinions a chance. Readers don't always appreciate 'letter warriors'. It's all about timing and frequency. But yep, if we can get letters published in some major metro daily rags, hopefully they'll spark some friendly debate and keep the issues in the open for a decent amount of time.
