non Melbourne cup day

I love that idea. Everyone at my work today is talking about organising a lunch and sweepstake and yeah... tomorrow is going to suck They no my reasons for not getting involved in the 'festivities' but I know to some people I'll just look like a stick in the mud.
Oh well

i know horse racing is cruel and all but .. idk,theres just something about the melbourne cup that draws me in. Like, tbh i love the whole fashions on the field and the thorougbreds look so beautiful and elegant.
i think its just the hype of "the race that stops a nation" that really gets me..
I hope that doesnt make me sound like a bad person or anything.

I can understand that, but when you consider that its not just the obvious cruelty done to the horses - the amount of men and women that use feathers, fur and leather etc. for their fashion is horrifying. we should absolutely have our own cup!

We should have a Vegan Cup. People give each other piggy backs and run along a 100m track. Whips optional.

Next year we should definitely host one Fed Square or something, it'll be awesome

I saw on the neew that their was a parade through the melbourne streets to celebrate the Melbourne cup.

I think its a fantastic idea!

But for tomorrow, my day shall be spent working (double pay for public holiday) and writing facebook updates on why horse racing is a fked up concept.

yeah they have that every year, its like an opening ceremony for the melbourne cup.
