so what kind of movies do people here like?

I mainly like horror, action, comedy, suspense and cheesy 80's B movies.

Though i am mainly into horror i have to say nothing much has impressed me over the last few years. 80's horror movies were original and introduced new and clever characters like Freddy , Jason, chucky, leatherface they all had their own quirks weaknesses and ways to be killed.

Unfortunately they were exploited and movies such as freddy vs jason were born. Dont get me wrong that movie started off well though at the end freddy is pulled out of the dream world and jason is slashing the shit out of him and it dosn't seam to hurt him... WRONG when freddy is out of the dream world he is weak as piss and one of those chops would instantly cut him in half... GRR plot holes

Though i did kinda enjoy the new chucky movies they tried to take it in a new direction (horror comedy) and i think it worked pretty well. Dropping the whole andy thing was also a good idea its like they wanted to move away from childs play and create something new.

The latest jason movie was a piece of shit though.  I watched it once and am glad i didn't pay for it. why is it in all new horror movies they have to explain why they don't have a mobile phone.. it sickens me.

I also hate saw its a cash cow...

I watched the remake of last house on the left a few weeks back and thought it was pretty good. I still watch the original from time to time though tame by todays standards it is still a good movie.

I aslo like adam sandler movies mainly happy Gilmore.. i like it when that guys like "you will not make this putt you jackass... haaa..

Detroit rock city is a pretty good comedy movie as well. i watched it with tom we both like it. Its funny cos i like concerts and trip is a legend.

I also like the labyrinth. i think the funniest bit is when that guy is spraying the farys with the bug spray. when the kids in this neighbourhood piss me of with their damn noise and scooteers i like to say "goblin king goblin king wherever you may be take this child of mine far away from me" but it dosn't seam to work... i hate kids.

another good movie is the goonies expecilay chunk when he dose the truffle shuffle (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5whaRkuipU).

ill  think of more later

I love thrillers, horror and action!

My fav actors are Bruce Willis, Tom Cruise and Harrison Ford so anything with them in it, I'd love!!!

I agree with the Freddie vs Jason movies, the always seem to ruin it, just leave it be! I love the Saw movies too, even though they are very gory!

Ahhhh I love so many movies would take 3 days to list them all heh.

I really like film adaptions of novelss but GOOD ones like Fight Club, A Clockwork Orange, Trainspotting, etc. Having said that, some bad ones are still watchable i.e. Lord of the Rings is not too bad, mainly the first & second ones though tongue

I really like Jean-Pierre Jeunet's films namely Amelie, Delicatessan & especially City of Lost Children, that movie is incredible.

I do like horror, just not blood and guts type stuff. I don't think I could ever bring myself to watch Saw or Hostel or anything. I think Spanish horror movies are the best in the world e.g REC and The Orphanage (SO frickin scary, but then again, I'm a coward.) 28 Days Later is cool too.. & the sequel.

My favourite movies as a kid were The Lion King and A Little Princess(which I only just watched for the first time in years a few months ago, and I cried, heh)

And as shameful as it may be, I'm going to admit to loving both the Jackass movies ashamed2

My favourite actor in the world is Ed Norton, but I don't think he gets enough good roles. sad

I like good one's tongue

Seriously though, I'll watch almost anything as long as it's good. Some movies end up being really surprising and I think they'll suck then they're amazing, others I go into with high expectations and they're terrible.

So long as my husband never makes me sit through another Saw movie, I'm happy!

me too!

haha

i love all the cult movies; Scarface,The Departed, Pulp Fiction, The Godfather(s) to name a few. I've watched the first two way, way too many times.

Also, Michael Moore's films are reallllllllllly good. I love how he tells a really meaningful and thought provoking story in funny, black humor type of way. The fact that they make conservatives' heads explode is also a bonus of sorts. tongue

arghhh, but the movie i really wanna see is Invictus.... though it only comes out in Australia next January. D:  I may have to download it, but I don't want to spoil itttttt.

Lol, nope. When I was a teenager I was really into horror movies. I think I'd watched pretty much every one of them on the shelf at the video store at least twice.

Somewhere along the way my tastes change. Horrors aren't so great anymore (I will watch one, but my husband goes away to work and I have anxiety and freak out about being home alone so I only watch them when he's here) but saw was just all blood and guts (plus it made various parts of my body hurt when I watched theirs being hacked at ~ EEK!~ *squeamish*)
