im the wrong person to ask about such things.

though if it makes you uncomfortable with him eating meat it might not be for the best. I know some ppl try to convert but it doesn't always seam to work.

I can relate.

I went on a date with someone earlier in the year and she knew i was a veggie so she brought a salad with chicken in it. I apprieciated her putting the effort into trying not to offend me though its not the same as going out with some one who made the choice and is doing it for the right reason.

hang out with him for awhile, get to know each other alot more and see if him hanging around you has an effect on his meat eating wink Its worked for me before 3 times haha. happy

You just gotta show him how much it means to you..and the guy will be more motivated to get into it all if he wants to be with you happy

I couldnt handle having an omni partner at this stage. Compassion is the number one must for me =]

Dating non-vegetarians can be a great way to inspire others to choose a cruelty free life. But really it's up to you and whether you feel uncomfortable with the situation.

basically everyone i know are meat eaters and theres nothing i can do
its not as though i'm going to preach them on it
so yeah i would date a guy if he ate meat, as long as he respected that and didn't think i was some kind of weird hippie

I don't think it has so much to do with whether or not they are vegan, but how they react to the new information -- you can't blame someone for being genuinly ignorant.

In my mind though, once you learn of the horrors of animal exploitation -- from pork to milk -- the only sane thing a person can do is to decide "I do not want to be a part of this/fund it." Basically, I think you should definitely give people the benefit of the doubt.

That said, if you say showed them say Earthlings, and they still had no problem continuing to exploit animals.... well.... I think it would be very hard to have a relationship with that person. I mean, I don't think many of us could honestly have a relationship with an absolute neo-nazi skinhead.

So yeh, basically, I would give people the benefit of the doubt. I don't think limiting your social sphere will do you, or even the animals, any good... in my opinion of course.

*I was reading an NZ articles on 'vegansexuals'; people who only date other vegans. One of their reasons was that, if for example they kiss a non-vegan, they will be ingesting animal products and so they, "wouldn't be vegan anymore." Personally, I think that's going way, way too far rofl.
