In religion I showed by teacher the gestation cage simulation, all he said was... 'I know that this is happening in some countries.' and then walked away!! What the hell... I mean how could a grown man not know about the factory farming that happens in Australia!! God I'm so angry with this... what is happening to the world... how can they keep something as terrible as this away from the public eye??
Side note, semantics 'n' stuff: what do you mean by religion teacher? Is this instruction in a single denomination or do you look at comparative religion?

We have something in the U.S. called the USDA and National Dairy Council, which both twist test results and make candy-coated versions and images of the dairy industry for little kids. Even meat factories think that the USDA should be turned in!
These guys do a very good job of hiding the truth from everyone, even though I was never really affected.

For some people, it's not on their list of 'things to do to change the world'. Unless you are properly educated or ready for the information, sometimes you can feel as though these people are stupid, arrogant or selfish.
Best thing to do is keep calm, try to explain yourself and tell someone else who's ready.
When I hear "oooooh one of those people"..it makes me wonder what other activists are telling people lol.
