I am not being rude just expressing my views. Thank you for being insulting of my cultural background though, you are truly a humanatarian hey!!!!! Indigenous peolple protect the earth and the home of animals. What have you done to protect animals?

There is such a thing as a ethical meat eater, as my true vegan friends know and respect me for.
I'm pretty sure they don't, and I'm pretty sure I'm just stating facts. And I'm pretty sure that the ones who still do all their own hunting are allowed to hunt dugong, even though they're an endangered species. They care about the animals hey? So thanks for trying to make me out like a racist. It seems that race is only a problem for you.

And there isn't such thing as an ethical meat eater. You tell me what's ethical about veal? Please, enlighten me. And even if the majority thinks it's ethical, you tell me just how sustainable it is?

And I have done plenty to protect animals, like giving meat fowls a haven to live out their days, rescue animals from shelters, exclude animal biproducts from my diet. Yeah, I'm such a bad person with all those nice things I do.

I think you'll find most people here protect animals by NOT EATING THEM!!

As a vegan I could never respect anyone for eating meat.  People eat meat for pleasure or out of ignorance - doesn't seem particularly ethical to me!  Taking a life for your own pleasure is the ultimate selfishness.

So we are not allowed to express our views back? We have to remember this is a dicussion board. When some one discusses something, others discuss back.

You can't really think that even eating meat in the most ethical way possible (which in my oppinion is not even ethical) can be more ethical than being a vegan!?

Most vegans attempt to respect there meat eating friends to a degree because lets face it. I know I wouldn't have many friends or family left if I judged people on what they did or didn't eat.

You are expressing your views in a hostile manner. Which is fine. We all have that right. But for every action comes a reaction, keep that in mind next time you want to have a go, and don't get defensive when someone bites back.

What have we done to protect animals? ... ... I'm not even going to dignify that with a response.

Indigenous people used the land before moving on?????? Not sure where you got those facts from. There are indigenous people still living in the jungle and mountins today. They are waiting for the US to kick them out so they can profit from their natural resources, which they have been living on for thousands of years. You sound pretty ignorant of these facts.

I did not make a comment to insult vegans, I only said that if people are thinking about animal rights then they have to look into the big picture. I support real vegans. It would be like me saying I don't like animal cruelty and then going to to buy a face cream which has animal parts or buying a real furr coat, or buying ivory for decorating my home. All I was saying is that many vegans are not really if they do not change all things that affect animals.

animals do attack for sport and kill to eat last time I checked. I was in the amazon for 1 month and we witnessed such behaviour. In saying that, I can not tell a caymon, anaconda or piranya to be vegan.

Have you been to an indigenous village???? Where are your facts from??? In Colombia our indigenous people and our animals have been displaced and destroyed by US corporations for profit, and people are killed so you can all consume palm oil and bannanas and shit like that. You have your facts wrong, but that is typical of someone who does not make an effort to go and see for themselves and typical of people who follow US propoganda that makes them look animal friendly, when in fact they are far from it. They have used all their own resources and now are trying to take all of ours, and it aint meat they are looking for!!! Try Coffee, Bannanas (please watch documentary toxic bannanas), palm oil (please watch la lucha por la tierra, the battle for land) and also look up the oil spills in Ecuador from Chevron and in Peru which affect and kill animals.

Personally if I were an animal I would rather die an instant death than die from drinking polluted water or drinking oil.

The indigenous people have been fighting and protecting animals for good reason. They would not be alive today without animals. Animals are part of a very important ecosytem. Also many animals are viewed as sacred and indigenous people beleive they are their ancestors reincarnated.

On human rights, try having family members killed or forced of land so that others get rich. All this because they have used up all their land in the US and Europe and now they want to take ours and are using our corrupt government to kick us out. In the process everything gets killed so they can clear the land to grow crops. Our waters in the Amazon are polluted with oil, which kill all our animals, including pink dolphins (which are endangerourd).

I love it how the west are responsible for animal cruelty just as much as the Japanese and then try and blame people who have up till now been living side by side with these animals.

Westeners are also responsible for animal cruelty in Africa too and force africans to help them find animals to kill for tusks, furr etc.

One questions, if you honestly beleive indigenous people kill animals other than survial, why then is it Europe and USA who hardly have any animals left apart from live stock???

My background by the way is an Esthetician, Massage Therapist and Holistic Beauty Therapist. In our salon we only sell vegan products and use environmentally friendly cleaning products which are also kind to humans and are all fair trade. We sell Inika (vegan cosmetics), Dr Hauschka (organic and vegan), Sonet and Tri Nature. We also use MV Organic skincare which includes fair trade palm oil. We have plenty of vegan clients who see our naturopaths and who need supplements to support their health. I respect them because they are truly ethical, and they know damn well that they have to take extra care of their health, especially if they plan to conceive. Many of them also have the $$$$$ to support their vegan lifestyle.

I eat meat and have been very sick from not doing so. I suffer from anemia and I cannot afford these supplements. I decided to eat meat and improve my health.  I however eat organic, grass fed meat from local farmers. If that is not respected then so be it. Call me selfish and whatever you like, but I know what my body can and cannot live with.

I support animal welfare and belieive that no animal should be killed unless eaten. I also do not support all meat produce, especially because of the way animals have been farmed and treated.

I am a suppoter of Friends of Earth, Greenpeace and Amazon Watch and Green Left Weekly. I beleive capitalism is th main reason people and animals and the envrironment are in danger and all of this is connected to greed and over consumption.
