I'm not even going to post back in this topic again, it's getting pathetic.

And it makes perfect sense that they would be nomadic because they used up the land before they moved on, otherwise why would you bother moving on? If what you were doing was completely sustainable? hmm..
Animals kill to eat and some are built solely for the purpose of eating meat, others are built to eat vegetation. They don't have the knowledge or the means to convert their diets like humans do.

Bottom line, eating meat isn't ethical. And it's stupid to try and tell a bunch of vegans on an animal rights forum that it is.

And to your argument on driving cars: Apparently there are more cows in Australia than people and each one produces 300 litres of methane every day. Methane, it seems, is 25 times more potent as a greenhouse gas pollutant than carbon dioxide. So you can be a vegetarian and drive a Hummer and you’re still more eco-friendly than a meat-eater on a bicycle.
And that's from your greenpeace website. Go figure.

Okay, obviously you don't get my point and thats okay. It is possible to live 100 percent ethically and I know people who do.

Plants can not run away because they are in soil. Plants are affected by the way they are treated and if you undertand biodernamic farming you would understand this as well. If you have a garden and grow your on vegies or fruit, then you would also understand that if plants are not well looked after they die and loose their vitality. Treat plants well and they thrive and are able to reproduce. I am studying botany at the moment and am learning about the amazing structure of plants and how they are in fact affected by many different incorrect practices. If you harvest plants incorrectly, the whole plant dies. If you destroy their environment (soil), they die and if you over water them they die. They have to be harvested at a particular time of the day and and in a certain type of manner. They cannot run away if some idiot desides to drown them with too much water. Maybe you need to grow up and learn some facts about the plant and animal world or take a course in Botany.

Some facts about plants taken from studies "Plants feel pain when subjected to trauma such as being yanked out of the ground, peeled, cooked, and eaten. "Veggies and plants initiate a massive hormone and chemical barrage internally when they suffer any kind of injury," says professor Barry Lindzer. "This response is akin to the nerve response and endorphin release when an animal is injured. We cannot ignore the similarities."  Lets not forget that many plants are also endangered due to unethical practices and environmental damage.

Also there is a very important theory that animals evolved from the plant kingdom. If you need any more info on this I would be more than happy to pass it on.

Human rights, animals right and the rights of our planet are all relevent and connected because we all live together and the only way we can live in harmony is if we are all respected during our days of living. When you start to discrimination of  differnt groups then you can hardly call yourself ethical and you are not taking into consideration the needs of all living beings and that makes you selfish.

I didn't say all meat is ethical, just like not all vegies are ethical, especially when you use up all the land from someone else's backyard.

animals do attack for sport and kill to eat last time I checked. I was in the amazon for 1 month and we witnessed such behaviour. In saying that, I can not tell a caymon, anaconda or piranya to be vegan.
Remember a lot of animals have to eat meat though, because some are carnivores they need meat. And for the omnivoures, its not like they can always just eat plants, it might not always be enough for them, so if they don't have access to enough vegtables they need to eat meat.

I also personally think that the food chain would work perfectly in the world if no humans existed.

Indigenous people used the land before moving on?????? Not sure where you got those facts from. There are indigenous people still living in the jungle and mountins today. They are waiting for the US to kick them out so they can profit from their natural resources, which they have been living on for thousands of years. You sound pretty ignorant of these facts.
This is an australian site. Hense the whole word Australia being in the name. So of course we are going to think of the indigenous people of Australia when you say indigenous, who are nomadic.

But how is it ethical to eat something that feels pain, which you have to kill to eat?

........ lmao. I'm sitting here thinking what the hell would we do if plants had feelings? WHAT WOULD WE EAT!!! We'd be screwed. tongue Lol. Just a funny image. All the flowers sitting around, thinkin and we don't even know it tongue

Plants are living, they have cells, they have reactions. This is how they grow and survive. When they are yanked out of the ground of course it would not be unusual for this to cause trauma to the plant and I'm sure they are suited with planty chemically things that rush to the trauma site to heal it, isn't that what sap is in trees? similar to when we cut ourselves I guess. But they do not have a brain. They don't feel. They react, but not out of pain, just out of being. And plant and animal have very very different cell structures ...... so I can't see animals coming from plants. tongue .... not to mention how would that evolution even work? no.. no.. ..no.. just no. tongue Not even going there.

.. I forget what the point was.
