https://www.depressionforums.org/forums/topic/9019-gelatin/

"Compressed tablets contain venlafaxine hydrochloride equivalent to 25 mg, 37.5 mg, 50 mg, 75 mg, or 100 mg venlafaxine. Inactive ingredients consist of cellulose, iron oxides, lactose, magnesium stearate, and sodium starch glycolate.

However they do contain lactose, which may be a problem if you are a vegan."

This is a good read too http://www.veggieboards.com/forum/60-vegan-support-forum/98346-gelatin-antidepressants.html

All medicine approved in Australia goes through animal trials, so you never need to ask this question again as the answer is always "yes".
Many people will tell you it is only the gel caps that are animal based, but that is nonsense. Stabilising acids, thickeners, all sorts of ingredients are animal based. And it is very, very hard sometimes to find the manufacturing process associated with ALL the ingredients as some are still proprietary and claim commercial confidence.
If you do succeed in your quest however, please post your findings back here as there are many people who would be interested.
