Last week George Calombaris met with us, and informed us that upon being made aware of the cruelty and conditions behind the hidden industry of rabbit farming in Australia, that he did not feel that it was suitable to continue serving rabbit meat at any of his restaurants. We cannot ask for a better outcome for rabbits in cages everywhere. This sends a clear message to rabbit farms that society will not tolerate animal cruelty and the demand for rabbit flesh is diminishing, leaving factory farms at a loss.He mentioned the petition and the public pressure he had felt.Thank you to everyone who came together for these animals. This is a milestone for rabbits who have been forgotten for so long in animal agriculture. Let's hope that more restaurants will adopt the compassionate decision to leave rabbit off the menu".
I have 5 very adorable rabbits so I really love doing what I can to help bunnies. I am thankful for the work they have done, they are a cool organisation.
