Does anyone know if there are ay chai lattes out there, either to buy and make myself or one that a chain cafe makes.

Someone told me that chai lattes from Gloria Jeans is vegan if you make it with soy milk. I am very skeptical.

I miss a good chai. I've read labels at the local supermarket and health food store...nothing.

Any help would be ace!

As far as I know most of the chai latte powders contain casein (milk). The only vegan chai stuff I have been able to find is plain chai tea, which just isn't the same sad

Here is the ingredients for gloria jeans products: http://www.gloriajeanscoffees.com/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=LN0oHTRcqSU%3d&tabid=2989
The Chai Latte is not vegan because it contains sodium caseinate.

Nerada Chai teabags are vegan, not quite the same thing but if you add a ton of agave syrup you should be alright.

The Chai Latte's at Gloria Jeans are not vegan. Here's a list of all things vegan at Gloria Jeans: http://www.vegantasmania.com/2012/05/list-of-vegan-drinks-at-gloria-jeans.html

I've always believed that chai, as produced in India by chai wallers, is superior to the Chai Lattes we're used to here in Australia, but that's just my opinion.

It SHOULD be possible, perhaps with a good chai tea mix (I like Lupicia, www.lupicia.com.au) and a lot of milk of your choice. Maybe soy or almond?

A good frother would be a plus too happy

Nope. I work at Gloria Jeans, and I can tell you that the chai powder contains milk solids. Good luck in your search!

What if you get chai lattes where they use the syrup rather than the powder?
