Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we." -george w bush-Washington, D.C.,

I know his statement was said wrong and really, I don't mind George Bush because I think that he really did try but was very misguided. Plus, I can identify with him when he says his sentences wrong. That happens to me EVERY time I open my mouth.
Anyway, if you think about it, his statement is true. Sure, enemies might be plotting ways to kill us all through nuclear bombings or other terrorist attacks but we're also doing it ourselves. Smoking, drugs, alcohol, pollution, meat production and meat eating. We're killing ourselves faster than our enemies are.

favourite ever gwb quote?

"it will take time to restore chaos."

i was watching fox news the other day, and one of his former campaign staffers, or "handlers", made no excuse that "mr bush struggled with the english language."

The thing to remember about George is he's probably a really nice guy...

You have to remember that while he has the title of 'President' he is far from in control of the country, just as any leader in any western "democracy'" He is the figurehead of his political party, and under all circumstances has to speak and act in accordance with the vested interests of his political party, and whichever lobbies/organisations/corporations have economic control of the government.

Perhaps said lobbies place in power such ignoramuses as George so that they can't publicly question all of the abhorrent things that go on under their presidency? tongue
yeh, very true.

obviosuly obama is still subject to the constraints of contemporary politics, but he seems different. i mean, he really did stand up to the major pharmaceutical lobby groups, which have contamanited politics for so long. i really good indicator of the power of the pharmaceutical lobby groups is the fact that 39 democrats in the house of reps. voted against the bill!

and how amazinggggg is it that obama is not giving into public pressure in regards to the average american's fear 'terrorism,' but is trialling the believed mastermind of 9/11 in nyc! it really is amazing.

i dunno if i can forgive bush that easily though. i despise him for committing thousands and thousands of young men and women, some only in their teens, to fight an old man's war for a energy-empire. i hate the fact that not only bush, but also people like kevin rudd, say things like "we will do whatever it takes to defeat terrorism." the truth is, rudd never served in the military, and bush only served in the air forces reserves! both also have no intention of actually dying for their 'values' either. what a load of bs politics really is.

Exactly.

I have a friend who is currently in Afghanistan not because his country is in danger but because George bush needs more oil. I rely hope the war ends soon.. its a stupid war.
