I am totally with you on this one... I hate soy milk too.

SO SOSO much.... I think it tastes super gross and it gives cooking a wierd taste.

I use other milk alternatives like oatmilk, coconut milk etc in cooking happy Oatmilk is especially good for cooking (and on cereals) because its taste isn't so super overwhelming and sickening...

It makes everything oatier and yummier.

if you like cereal you can always let the cereal 'sit' for a minute or so before you eat it. For example, when i have coco-pops, after i pour the milk in, i stir it and let it sit for a minute. It ends up tasting better to me... i dunno why though lol.

also.. when i 'just turned' vegan i could not stand the taste of soy milk or rice milk or any other vegan alternative for that matter. but after a really long while (like around 9 months!) i got used to it. now i love soy hot chocoloate, vegan chocolate etc etc.

So for me, it just took some time getting used to.

good luck with it!  peace

mmm yes i only use soy milk for cooking and never by itself. it has a wheaty flavour (because it comes from a crop)

If your used to having a glass of milk (by itself) everyday, then try rice milk. Its heaps yummier and doesnt have the wheaty taste.

Definately give the other milks a go - almond, oat, rice etc but if you don't like them can you give milk up?  It might be easier to like soy milk etc when you don't have dairy milk to compare it to.

As Matt said, your taste buds change. I used to drink milk all the time, now I only use it when cooking.

PS. I love the nutty taste of soy milks and the sweetness of rice milk, I just don't have the desire to drink it. I compare it to my chocolate addiction. I thought I could never give up chocolate. When I became vegan, I tried very hard not to cave in, it was hard!!! I didn't and now I wonder why I was addicted in the first place!

I used to feel the same way a bout soy milk, but now I'm actually quite in love with the So Good one. I just used it and used it and it actually just tastes so normal to me now. I drink it by itself. Taste is pretty adaptive.

I use plain soy milk for cooking and use the flavoured kind (e.g.- vanilla, strawberry or chocolate) for drinking.
