Me again haha happy
anyway today I was going through my pantry looking for anything possably vegan and I found a box of ritz crackers and though I did read the ingredents I can't remember what they where anymore and I haven't seen them listed on any of those 'accidently vegan' lists but I used to love them so does anyone know if they are vegan?
Thanks

as long as they dont have any dairy or animal flavoring, im quite sure they are ok. i havent actually had ritz before so i have no clue.im also going to head off to sleep soon so i will check online in the morning.

if your looking for food to eat, i recomend looking on peta2. they have some really good easy recepies! the smothies sound really filling and good!

i mention peta way to much...oh well...

Sugar is not vegan. They use bone char to filter the sugar.  You have to buy organic sugar or if it says evaporated cane juice it will be vegan. Ritz crackers just says 'sugar' so not vegan.  sad

Just how does that sugar go from its natural brown to that bleached white color we’re all so familiar with?

Sadly, the answer is cow bones. Thousands and thousands of them. About 7,800 cows’ bones the Vegetarian Resource Group estimates per each commercial sugar filter.[1] Each sugar refinery may have several sugar filters, and this “bone char” needs to be replaced about every five years. Called “natural charcoal” by the sugar industry, cow bones are incinerated at 700 degrees Celsius for twelve hours or more, producing a granular substance. When used as a crude filter for raw sugar, it bleaches it white.

It also says on the box, "May contain egg, milk and sesame seeds".

"my research is telling me that the sugar industry in Australia uses non-animal coal filters to process cane sugar in Australia although I would research the individual brands you are planning on buying."
