Hi all, I would appreciate thoughts on D3 from lanolin.

I don't really classify myself as vegan, I've cut out dairy but I will eat an egg if I know the chook it came from and I'm not fussed about honey. My daughter is fully vegan though and I see most of you won't eat soy life yoghurt because of the D3. I was wondering then if those people also don't wear wool? this was something we hadn't really considered yet.

I'm severely vitamin D deficient and D3 supplement is my best solution, D2 doesn't really do the job.  Can anyone then recommend a readily available (Melbourne) D3 supplement that is vegan.

Most Kelloggs cereals have this added also in a bid to relieve Rickets in Children.

Also to be technical products from America (like Tofutti) are they Vegan? Considering most of the Sugar is filtered using Bone-Char (although none is present in the end products).

Quick Google search: http://vitashine-d3.com/

Do you not see much sunlight?

Good point on the US products.

Most causes of D deficiency are physiological and sunlight alone won't make much difference.

I hadn't had any problem with D3 coming from lanolin but I'd like to hear about the concerns of those who do.

A lot of Wool sheep are mulsed generally without anaesthetic. it's traumatic. It's in humane. Most vitamin D3 comes fom wool sheep eg merino. In my opinion this is a reason why to choose a vegan D3. If you can get nutrients without hamming other living, feeling beings. Why wouldn't you?

Hey, I've been taking vitashine for the past few months, it is really good definitely recommend!
Although it may be cheaper from vitacost (which is where i buy mine) they have two types of D3 capsules and are about $15 for two months supply

I also recommend the capsules instead of the oral spray (the spray tastes gross and has less D3 in it)

And if you do end up ordering from vitacost (they have some amazing stuff/amazingly cheap and just quietly i am addicted) here is a link to get $10 off your order!
