Gold coast eating for Vegan and Omni?

Vegan places

So I've moved back to the Gold Coast and am in the process of going back to vegan. My boyfriend lives about 3 hours away but we see each other on weekends for now. Anyway he loves to go to restaurants. Most places have a vegan option.

But I was wondering if there were any places in particular for cheap that serve good vegan food that your average meat loving guy would enjoy? It needs to be not too expensive, as we both don't have a lot of money to spend on going out.

He loves sushi and Thai food. He likes mexican too. I'm looking for something that's sort of normal in an omnis eyes (or taste buds). He isn't scared to try vego stuff though. Last night he polished off two sanitarium not burgers. He tried one of my friends lentil burgers once and didn't mind it. And he is a firm believer that even if something doesn't taste good, it can all be fixed with tomato sauce haha.

Suggestions?

I don't even know if they are in the Gold Coast but Zambero's is a good store and they have vegan and omni food (I am pretty sure they are mexican).

There is one! Actually looks quite good, and still cheaper than the last two mexican places we've been too, will have to try this!

That looks amazing! Not sure whether my boyfriend would like most of the stuff, but he can taste my meals while he has the nachos and pizza haha

I loved Mandala when I was visiting QLD, but we took omni friends there and they thought most of the menu was too weird & ordered a boring salad, which I didn't think was a very good representation of vegan food.
Kuan Yin Tea House & Tian Ran both have mock meat Asian dishes which I think would go down better with omnis, although Tian Ran has a bit of a hippie atmosphere from memory.
Kuan Yin has amazing sweet potato wedges as well as great mains, and is very affordable!

Hmm might try that first. I might also try a few more home cooked meals with him to see what kind of vegan stuff he likes, so when he is paying $20 for a meal he knows whether he will actually like it or not. (Plus we really need to stop going out all the time for lunch and dinner, it's ridiculous with the amount of money each of us has haha)

Montezuma's mexican restaurant in Burleigh have a wide range of vegetarian options and are always more than happy to modify these to meet the requirements of a vegan.
There are several Govinda's around, one in Burleigh also, and on the beach there's a lovely raw cafe called From Earth And Water.
The Magic Apple on the Gold Coast Highway are a vegetarian establishment that cater for vegans as well.

Thanks heaps! I did go to Earth And Water a few months back to see what it was like, but it was near closing time and they didn't have much food left, sounded good though.

when i lived up there i really enjoyed the Sol breads bakery if its still there... and there was a nice cafe in the Southport shopping centre that did vegan pizza!

try going to happycow.com because they have a fairly good database on where to go for eating out as a vegan.
