obviously people drive me nuts with the way they think bout vegan ism...but sum people are just so so funny.

the other day i told a guy im vegan....and he sed.....doesn't that mean u eat plants and shit?
lol
this guy actually thort i ate like leaves and grass etc

also ive noticed boys arnt very understanding of the whole vegan thing( no offense to the boys on here)......but so many guys i meet just find it weird and really don't like it...and the fact that i don't change my beliefs when they mention they don't like me being vegan seems to make guys really uncomfortable..
anyone else eva noticed this?
or is it just the people i hang out with?

peace_out

lol i hope im not the only girl with this dilemma

No I find women understand way more than men do. Men always look at me like I'm from out of space.

I also have this really nice friend on facebook and for some reason his status update keeps telling me he's eaten like a gazillion animals to make up for all the one's the vegetarians don't eat. It's driving me nuts!

Well if it gives you hope, my boyfriend turned me vegan happy so there are some thoughtful boys out there! I think that being compassionate towards animals doesnt always fit with the male stereotype, which is a huge generalisation but to an extent i think its true. I also think that until someone really knows the details and horrors of meat consumption (etc.), people assume you're just over emotional by caring enough to abstain from animal products.

If it makes them uncomfortable, its only because just by you BEING vegan to begin with points out that there is, and that you believe there is, something, they have more than likely participated in and enjoyed their whole lives, wrong with there lifestyle.

But I know what you mean, I have definitely noticed the same thing. Its something im still learning to deal with and figure i will have to deal with forever happy but i dont mind so much, it helps weed out the ones i dont really need in my life anyway! The few supportive and accepting people in my life are the only ones i want to take with me happy

No way! Not cool! I once had someone write "all vegetarians and vegans are idiots, why else did god put animals on the earth for??" huh (I edited the 7 spelling mistakes wink )

im glad it isn't just me.  happy
guys really dont like it...and so many expect me to change simply coz they want me to. im not a puppet, i make my own choices.

that would drive me nuts.
i actually find that really rude. u shhould point out to him that he hasn't actually eaten however many animals...he has committed that many murders indirectly.

peace

Yeah its pretty awesome... I feel really lucky! but I have NO idea what Id do if we broke up, I dont think Id put up with an omni partner! but thats easy to say now, inst it? It does make things easier, we can vent when stuff goes shit, try awful tofu, and theres no comprimising. But if I had a good mate that was vegan it would be similar i think, you need someone that can say "i know exactly what you mean!!".

Its good that you're so strong with that, i think a lot of people cave when it comes to a relatonship, so as long as you stick to your beliefs, youll be right!  love
