Sorry if I've offended you; you 'sound' a bit peeved? my defense of cows milk for humans springs from a friend of mine [deceased]; he was involved in establishing dairies in 3rd world nations, post ww2. He + staff saved 1000's of child lives with liquid + especially powdered milk. Supplied FREE, courtesy British govt, + for decades. Many children, poor areas: UK/Australia were helped, health wise by addition of free milk to their diet: this is recognized + medically understood worldwide. There's much evidence to prove these facts; many folk are allergic to many different foods worldwide although the majority won't be inflicted thereby. Cheerio!
No its cool, I wasn't offended. I was just asking your reason for being pro-milk is all, then providing why i'm against it... thought it would help you understand why the poster is against it also at the same time as bring you over to our side by educating
I can see that you may have been inspired to drink milk by a guy that had done some pretty cool stuff in the sense of saving many humans so while I understand that, I still feel the need to reiterate the fact that we don't need calcium from animals milk at all... calcium is found in green leafy vegetable, tofu made with calcium sulfate, navy beans, calcium-fortified soy milk and orange juice, and many other foods commonly eaten by vegans. So the constructive argument that all vegans will back is there is no need to harm an animal for something you don't need - its selfish and greedy really. Not to mention, Unlike milk, plant-based calcium sources contain vitamins C and K and the minerals potassium and magnesium, which are all important for bone health, in addition to the many other require nutrients and minerals. Also I just wanted to add cows milk contains artery clogging saturated fat not to mention milk has 300 Million pus cells in a single glass of milk and... antibiotics (perhaps 53, with LS-50), blood, feces, bacteria and viruses.
Also need I point out that your presented argument of 'many people being allergic to other food' is not at all plausible in this argument... one of the top allergens in the US/AUS is milk, people are lactose intolerant and/or allergic altogether too... so if that was meant as a sway/reason then it really doesn't stand up, especially considering that yes people are allergic to a plant source for calcium the chances are very slim - if not at all that you would be allergic to all sources.
Still pro-milk?
