huh
What's your drink of choice? Brand of choice?

It never even occurred to me that alcohol may not be vegan, but I haven't had a drink in moooonths. I'm going out soon though so I'm doing my research now aha.
What are basics that are vegan 90% of the time? Vodka? I've heard of vegan beer but what makes beer non-vegan? (not that I drink it) And what's a safe option for when I'm out and slightly drunk and just ordering something random at a bar?

Or if you have like a straightforward link to sort of catapult me into reading that would be very much appreciated thanks thumb

In this thread, we can see that most spirits are considered vegan. http://www.unleashed.org.au/community/forum/topic.php?t=809&

I like drinking wine for casual drinking (Riunite being my brand of choice) and gin if I need more of a kick. I prefer Archie Rose which is a local brand from a distillery here in Sydney.

Ask somebody to list the classic ingredients of beer and the chances are they will come back with: hops, malt, barley and water, with a bit of yeast thrown in for good measure.

It is unlikely the swim bladder of fish would be on the list, but isinglass - a gelatine made using the organ - is in fact very likely to be in your average pint.

Used since the 19th Century as a fining agent to make beer clear, bright and more attractive to drinkers, the odourless added extra is used widely by brewers, from mass-produced brands to small microbreweries.

Its prevalence poses a problem for vegetarians and vegans, many of whom do not realise they need to tread carefully when ordering at the bar.

A lot of spirits are vegan, also one of the better vegan ciders I have found is Hills Cider, you can get apple or pear.

The majority of "proper"craft beers are vegan. By "proper" I mean actual craft breweries - not the "pretend" craft breweries that are actually owned by Woolworths etc.
