Neighbours being able to punish others' dogs for barking!

This page was "suggested" on my FB timeline, does anyone know anything about these and how they work (in terms of the suffering or discomfort that a dog would feel at the ultrasonic sound)?

I'm not asking because I want to use it, but because I feel that this is a disgusting product. Firstly the ultrasonic sound, I don't want my dogs or anyone else's dogs to be subjected to anything that the dogs would find uncomfortable(and the add suggest that they stop barking because of this discomfort). Secondly, to me, this is an absurd training method, a dog barks because it is stimulated for some reason, making their life miserable for doing something that is A natural and B their way of dealing with stress is beyond wrong. And thirdly, Seriously, neighbours should be able to torment other peoples dogs as they like???? To me that is like disciplining someone else child: you don't do it unless the parent asks you to. I haven't shared this on FB because I don't think this is a product that should be shared amongst people who have no idea when it comes to dealing with animals.

So, does anyone know about this and know if there is something that could be done to take it off the market?

I haven't seen this item before but I completely agree with your opinion of it!
In terms of whether you can do anything to take them off the market, I suggest you contact your local council or even your state government. Personally, I don't think this should be legal. I mean, thieves could buy them and use them to stop dogs barking while they rob people's homes!
The more I think about it, the more angry I'm getting that anyone would even THINK about inventing something like this. I know I will be talking to my local council if I hear about any of these being used in my town.
