Fave Food: Potatoes... mashed, fried, roasted.. They're so effing good. Fave Music: Varied stuff, rock, alternative, some synthpop stuff. Fave Animal: Western ringtail possum! They're prolific in my town but are also critically endangered due to habitat destruction.

I've been vegan around a year now. A bunch of years back I was vegan for around two years, but due to physical and mental health reasons I stopped. I am so happy to be finally back, I love being vegan and knowing I am doing my best to not participate in or condone animal use and abuse.

I live with a companion animal, a cat I adopted, her name is Queenie, she is a black short haired domestic who lost a hind leg due to a dog attack. She is my best friend and an incredible little lady.

I'm really into learning the facts and the science behind farming, animal sentience, and plant based nutrition. I spend a fair bit of time reading books about these things, and also any academic work I can find (that's free). I highly recommend the site animalstudiesrepository.org hosted by the Humane Society of the US. I also recommend Eating Animals by Johnathan Safran Foer.

I watch the docos that are out there, eg. Cowspriacy, Blackfish, Earthlings, Forks Over Knives, Food Inc., and the amazing Lucent which is Australian, but I find the images and sounds incredibly upsetting (of course!) so I prefer to get my info in text format.
