My name is Julia.
I stopped eating meat on the 20th of December 2010. I had been sitting on the fence too long and decided it was time to decide - was I going to keep eating meat or was I going to stop. I tried to watch one factory farming video and couldn't watch it, that was it - No more meat for me!

I was told that Christmas was the worse time to give up meat but for me it was the best time, I knew that Christmas was one of the worst times for animals, so it kept me strong and more determined to know I wouldn't be a part of it.

My No.1 reason is because I love animals. My heart goes out to them, breaks for them and loves them. All the other benefits I just have been learning along the way.

Once I gave up meat I obviously started learning about the dairy industry! I gave up meat in one day but dairy is a little bit slower.
I order meals with no egg, no cheese. I cook with vegan products. But I know that there are hidden things that I have been consuming. Each day I learn and make changes happy

I am very greatful for this site!!

A few of my favourite things include:
Animals!! - Dancing all night (in the rain is best), music, boot camp, soccer, hockey, swimming (esp. in the ocean), fresh air, hanging out with my friends..
