Iam a university student and one of my mainstays in life are my four lads three ex-racing greyhounds and one whippet. I have had my own organisation since 2006. I alert others to the plight of racing greyhounds when ever and where ever it is needed. Quite often abandoned starved greyhounds are found on the brink of death because they are no longer making any money for their owners and trainers. I do not know a lot about the situation in Australia but I have heard one very consistant rumour or maybe the truth that a lot of Australias surplus greyhounds are sent to Asia if that is the case their lives will be harder and more cruel than any of us can imagine. They will be raced to death and killed slowly and then be served as a delicatessen for some Asians with a taste for dog meat. This is the kind of thing I want to see the end of along with the cruelty that follows the wake of greyhound racing the configuration of the tracks and more importantly the welfare issues associated with greyhound racing.
